Title of Session: Fossil Fuels and the Food Connection Petroleum is linked to every aspect of factory-style food production. Inexpensive oil has allowed the proliferation of cheap foods. As a direct result of the artificially low price of producing these goods, the American consumer has come to expect low prices at the grocery store. Food grown and produced this way is not sustainable, nor does it reflect the true cost of the product. Find out how oil percolates its way into your shopping cart and what you can do about it!
