The Interfaith Earth Network is sponsoring a conference entitled Faith Encounters The Energy Crisis: Transitioning to Reduced Energy Consumption. The event will feature numerous speakers dealing with electricity, transportation, heating and climate change issues, equipping and empowering the participants to reduce energy consumption as well as developing a sustainable energy use ethic that requires rediscovering religious faith values. There will be a additional, but not required opportunity for small groups to gather on the 26th for further conversation.
The keynote speech will be given by Margaret Swedish, author of Living Beyond the "End of the World"... A Spirituality of Hope. She will outline the values, the vision and the spiritual resources that might nurture a new human community and thus ensure a future for coming generations.
